Proud of Manipuri army officers: Lt Gen (Retd) Himalay

Informing that that there are around 350 Indian military officers from the tiny state of Manipur, retired lieutenant general Konsam Himalay said that people should be proud of the Manipuri officers.
Speaking during a reception programme hosted in honour of Indian Air Force squadron leader Mutum Sandip Singh, who took part in 'Operation Ganga Mission', transporting Indian citizens from Ukraine, at Khuman Lampak Youth Hostel here on Thursday, Lt Gen Himalay pointed out that doing duty sincerely is essential for every human being.
There is no importance regarding position of their work, but it is the dedication to their work and duty that matters, he maintained.
Pointing out that Manipur is filled with talented youth, he observed that act of encouraging the youth is, however, low.
In his address, Sandip said that not only Indian Air Force, civil airlines too helped in transporting the stranded Indian citizens from war torn Ukraine.
He narrated that he transported students from different countries like Romania, Ukraine and Slovakia.
Sandip said that he is delighted to help the country in some way.
The reception function was also attended by former minister Dr M Nara and Central Jail Imphal SP SK Bhadrika as presidium members.
