MLA Kumo Sha assures sincerest service

With an aim to work closely with the common people through apex civil societies, Karong MLA J Kumo Sha held an interaction programme with frontal organisations of Poumai Naga community at Poumai Naga Union (PNU) office here on Thursday.
The programme was attended by office bearers of PNU, Poumai Naotumai Me (women society), Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me (students' union), UNG leaders, PNU leaders, ADC members, CSOs leaders and others.
During the event, Kumo Sha, the lone MLA from Poumai community which is the dominant tribe of Senapati district, assured the gathering that he would offer his sincerest service for the benefit of the people and public can approach him anytime.
The first-time MLA said that unless politically strong, any community will find it difficult to move forward.
For this, he urged the leaders of the civil societies to give full support to his leadership.
Sha also stressed that development will take place when people support the authority concerned.
Sharing his initial political journey, Kumo Sha disclosed that he contested election despite coming from a humble background without money and only through the grace of God and people's support, he got elected.
He continued that he cannot forget PNU where he had served as general secretary and learned a lot and it has moulded his life.
He mentioned that being the lone MLA of Poumai community of the district, the responsibility is challenging and would need the support and cooperation of everyone.
Recalling his childhood days of walking nearly 40 km to reach the national highway, the MLA said he was determined to work for the downtrodden people and underdeveloped areas of the region.
Sha expressed his concern for the people and stated that how long his people will struggle and suffer under such conditions.
He also appealed to the elders, leaders and public to guide him on how best he can serve the people.
PNU president Dailord Pao, who chaired the interaction programme, assured of full support and cooperation to the Karong MLA.
He said that being the only MLA from the community he has to shoulder lots of responsibilities.
UNC president Kho John, former UNC president Paul Leo, former UNC vice president and former PNU president Ng Lorho, PNM president Delilah Pao and others also addressed the gathering.
