World Health Day Medico-legal health camp, free health camp held

As a part of the observation of World Health Day, the Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) organised a one-day Medico-Legal health camp for senior citizens residing at the Old Aged Home of Ima Leimarel Women Welfare Association, Kongba Nongthombam Leikai today.
The medico-legal health camp was attended by Ojesh Mutum, Member Secretary, MASLSA; Sadananda Sorokhaibam, Additional Member Secretary, MASLSA; Arshad Saeed Shah, Secretary, DLSA Imphal East; Dr Kh Dinamani Singh, Dental Surgeon; Dr Okram Jet, Managing Director, Rural Homeopathic Mobile Clinic and Dr Amrita Oinam, Senior Consultant, Rural Homeopathic Mobile Clinic, said a press release by MASLSA.

In his short address, Ojesh Mutum said, 'Right to Health is a part and parcel of Right to Life and therefore right to health is a fundamental right guaranteed to every citizen of India under Article 21 of the Constitution of India.
We owe the recognition of this right to the fact that the Supreme Court of India, through a series of judicial precedents, logically extended its interpretation of the right to life to include the right to health' .
It is the duty of the State to care for the health of the public at large and the Manipur State Legal Services Authority have, rightfully and proactively taken seven steps and provided assistance to the people in need, he added.
Around 35 senior citizens/ old aged persons received free medication and aid in the said camp.
Distribution of pamphlets and poster campaign on free legal services were also carried out as part of the observation.
The theme for this year's World Health Day is "Our Planet, Our Health".
The World Health Organization aims to focus global attention on the urgent actions needed to "keep humans and the planet healthy", added the release.
Junior Chamber International (JCI), Imphal Iconics too organised a one day free health and dental camp at Dharmasala, Thangal Bazar today on the occasion of World Health Day.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines, Nidhi Jain, president JCI, Imphal Iconics said that the health camp was organised to cater to the health problems of poor and needy people in and around Thangal Bazar.
He also expressed gratitude to the doctors, nurses and para-medical staff of JNIMS who have contributed majorly for the successful conduct of the health camp.
Chairperson of JCI, Imphal Iconics, Dr Khumukcham Sophia said that the health camp has been organised with an aim to keep everyone healthy on the occasion of World Health Day which is observed globally under the theme 'Our Planet, Our Health' .
She also stated that JCI, Imphal Iconics had extended help to the people on various occasions mainly during the difficult times of COVID-19 pandemic.
