Chorus Repertory Theatre celebrates

Chorus Repertory Theatre celebrated its 46th anniversary at its Samushang Uku complex on Thursday.
As part of the celebration, floral tributes were offered to the portrait of the deceased artistes of the theatre group.
Speaking on the occasion, Chorus Repertory chairman and renowned theatre director Ratan Thiyam stressed the need for protecting and preserving our language and culture, which is slowly disappearing.
He then recounted the activities taken up Chorus Repertory in the theatre scene, the difficulties faced and other experiences to the gathering.
It may be mentioned here that Chorus Repertory has over 50 productions under its belt.
Chakravyuha (Army Formation), Andha Yug (Blind Age), Uttar Priyadarshi (The Final Beatitude), Hey Nungshibi Prithvi (My Earth, My Love), Chinglon Mapan Tampak Ama (Nine Hills One Valley), Ashibagee Eshei (based on When We Dead Awaken, by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen), Macbeth (Manipuri adaptation of Shakespeare's Macbeth), etc., are some of the masterpieces produced by the theatre group.
