Imphal, April 07 2022:
Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) president S Bidyananda has announced that the students' body will start inspecting conditions of private schools in the state.
The KSA president told media persons at its office here on Wednesday that people of the state have suffered for a king time due to the profit making mindset and activities of some private schools and this has compelled the student body to start inspecting conditions of private schools.
According to S Bidyananda, admit cards for class XII examination to be commenced from Thursday had already been issued from March and students have prepared for the examination from their homes.
However, some private higher secondary schools had collected tuition fee till the month of May and converted education sector into a highly profitable one.
In the name of COVID-19, some schools collected unreasonable fees while some schools are collecting extraordinary fees for water, electricity and sanitisation apart from monthly tuition fees.
Apart from this, some schools recollected fees which were already taken during the time of admission.
This illegal collection of fees has converted education sector into a profitable one and hence KSA will start inspecting private schools, he said and stressed the need for regulating private schools in time with immediate implementation of the Manipur Private School (Registration and Regulation) Act, 2017 .
