In solidarity with the nationwide observance of National Demand Day, employees of the state government on Thursday ceased work for the day and staged sit-in protests in front of their respective offices.

He then said that all vacant regular posts in the government should be filled up via recruitment done through a statutory recruitment board.
The government should also disburse all pending benefits of pensioners, he demanded, while cautioning the government to fulfil all the 12 specified demands of the employees at the earliest, failing which the Federation along with like-minded bodies will launch intense agitations.
The sit-ins were also staged in front of Transport, Veterinary, PWD, PHED, IFCD, MI, Taxation, Environment, Electricity Department and other important departments of the state and also at the office of Manipur State Pensioners' Union.
During the sit-ins, the employees also held placards inscribed with different demands
