Imphal, February 07 2023:
Claiming that two candidates, who do not belong to Meitei Pangal community, have been given appointment against the seats reserved for OBC (Meitei Pangal) in the recently declared recruitment results of education department, All Manipur Muslim Organisations' Coordinating Committee (AMMOCOC) has demanded the authority to cancel the appointment order.
In a statement, AMMOCOC said that Mohammad Mah-mudul Hasan (SI No 411 & Roll No 4065) and Maisnam Benedeek (SI No 500 & Roll No 4756) are appointed as arts graduate teacher on contract basis against the seats reserved for OBC (Meitei Pangal) in the recruitment results declared on February 3.The first is a Bengali Muslim and the second belongs to Meetei community, the statement said while questioning the reason for giving appointment to the two against the seats reserved for Meitei Pangal community.
Even if they hold OBC (MP) certificates, it needs a thorough enquiry to find out who issued the certificates and how, it added.
It further claimed that this is not the first instances where seats reserved for Meitei Pangal community are given to people of other communities.
Similar issues occurred often in MBBS seats and DMU admission as well.
This is a breach of trust and constitutional guidelines, it stated while demanding cancellation of the selection of the two candidates and replacing them by Meitei Pangal candidates who are next in the list within 48 hours.
It also demanded appropriate action against the officials, who issued certificates to the two, under Official Liabilities Act, and to review the system of issuing OBC (MP) certificate.
It further informed that they had submitted a memorandum in this regard to the chief minister on Tuesday.
