Rayburn College glows with B++ accreditation

Rayburn College was accredited today by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a CGPA of 2.96 on a seven-point scale with a grade of B++ in its first cycle.
The result was announced today following an intensive two-day visit by a three-member NAAC Peer Team Committee on February 2-3 .
It may be noted that the NAAC accreditation is valid for a period of 5 years.
The college has been seeking NAAC accreditation for several years.
To achieve this vision, an Internal Quality Assurance Committee (IQAC) was formed by the administration of the college under the leadership of the founder of the college as well as the Principal, Rev Dr Khen P Tombing and Vice Principal Dr Kh Thianminlian Vaiphei.

The IQAC was led by Dr Siamkhanthang Neihsial, Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, as the co-ordinator, said the college authorities.
Notably, the college was a Higher Secondary School (established in 1994) before upgradation to college in 2003 .
It was upgraded to a college with the vision of achieving academic excellence and meeting the special needs of the remote and backward tribal population of south Manipur.
Rayburn College is the first and leading college in Manipur to adopt the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.When the college started the academic session for 2022-2023 on August 30, 2022, the college strictly adhered to the guidelines of the NEP 2020, said the college authorities.
In addition to regular teaching and learning activities, the college is strongly committed to lifelong learning, intellectual, creative, and personal growth, and offers many skill development programs, such as Tata Affirmative Action Program (TAAP) of TCS, training in various trades under NESEED (an initiative of NSDC), computer courses under NIELIT Churachandpur and Korean language courses in collaboration with King Sejong Institute, Imphal, Manipur, iNOW, a partner of RECYKAL, United College, Lambung, Chandel, Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College, Sivaksai, etc, to promote the overall development of students.
The accolade received by Rayburn College today is an achievement for the people in the region who are working to promote and develop a quality education system in the State and across the country, authorities said.
