FESOK proposes internet ban during exam hours

Federal Students' Organisation, Kangleipak (FESOK) has called for fair practice in the ensuing HSLCE and HSE 2023 to be conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) and Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) respectively, and Urged the government to restrict internet service or install network jammer in examination centres during the examination hours.
Addressing a press meet at its Kakwa office on Tuesday, FESOK education and library secretary N Rikhesh Mangangcha drew the attention of BSEM, COHSEM, directorate of education (S) and education minister to ensure fair conduct of the examinations.
He said that as per findings of the organisation, most of the instances of question leakage occur during the route from police station to examination centres, and a couple of minutes before commencement of the examination.
Insincere and corrupt teachers or staff members are often the source of such leaks, he added.
Maintaining that questions are leaked through social media and messaging apps, he appealed to the government to ban internet service, or install network jammer at all examination centres, one hour before the commencement of examinations till the exam is over.
The secretary also urged BSEM and COHSEM to blacklist examination centres with previous records/ remarks of question leak and also demanded the authority to refrain from allotting exam centres for students in their respective schools.
He also conveyed best wishes from FESOK to the students, who Would be appearing the two examinations.
