Alleged dad-son auto lifter duo remanded

A man who was arrested for possession and transportation of stolen vehicles along with his father has been remanded in police custody while the father has been released on bail.
The Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West today passed an order for release of Md Riyauddin on bail but remanded his son Md Illa Khan to police custody till February 10 for further investigation.
Md Riyauddin (45) s/o (L) Md Imam Ali of Kiyamgei Muslim Oinam Loukon and his son Md Illa Khan (23) were produced before the Court by a team of Imphal police station and the police team prayed the Court to remand the father-son duo to police custody.
On the other hand, the defence counsel of the father and the son filed a remand objection along with a prayer for releasing them on bail.
The Court, on perusal of the case record and after hearing the submission of the APP and the defence counsel, passed an order for release of Md Riyauddin on execution of PR bond of Rs 30,000 and surety of the same amount.
However, the Court remanded Md Illa Khan in police custody till February 10 .
Notably, Md Riyauddin who was allegedly involved in concealment and transportation of stolen vehicles was arrested by a team of Imphal West commandos from North AOC in front of Tampha Hotel yesterday evening.
On spot verification, Md Riyauddin disclosed that his own son Md Illa Khan and Md Manju Khan were involved in stealing vehicles from Imphal area.
Based on the disclosure, Imphal West commandos rushed to the residence of Md Riyauddin and recovered one Bajaj Pulsar and one Honda Dio moped and also arrested Md Illa Khan.
