Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) has demanded that suitable punitive action be initiated against Thangjam Roshan, a teacher of Liberal College, Luwangsangbam on contractual basis, for alleged swindling of money from students seeking admission in the college.
Addressing a press meet at its office premises here on Tuesday, MSF general secretary Rojit Tekcham said that it enquired about the corrupt practice after receiving report from a specific source.
The matter came to light when one such student got a duplicate admission receipt, while the original admission number was assigned to another student.
Taking serious note of the corrupt practice, he said that Roshan and the college authority should take full responsibility to ensure the victim student gets admission in the college without affecting his academic career.
The secretary also appealed to the education minister to look into the matter and take up necessary action against the corrupt teacher.
He further asked Roshan to come to MSF office within three days to admit to his corrupt practice.
