Man arrested with 4.344 kg opium

Bishnupur, October 23 2022:
In continuation of the War on Drugs mission, a combined team of Bishnupur district police commandos along with Moirang SDPO, Phougakchao Ikhai police station and 16 AR arrested a man with 4.344kg of opium on Sunday.
The arrested man has been identified as Pukhrambam lbomcha Singh (48), s/o P Kamini Singh of Thingangphai in Churachandpur district.
According to a police report, the combined team was conducting frisking and checking at Torbung Bangla near community pond along Tiddim road around 3.15 pm on Sunday when lbomcha was stopped and frisked.
From his possession, two packets of Everyday milk powder and two packets of Amul T-Special were recovered, packed inside a carton box.
On opening of the 4 packets in presence of civil witness, it was found containing a coffee coloured, jelly-like substance.
On preliminary verification, lbomcha disclosed that the 4 packets are Opium which was brought by him for selling to prospective buyers.
The drugs were weighed in the presence of civil witness and SDPO-Moirang, and found to be around 4.344 kg in total.
After observing necessary formalities, lbomcha was arrested at 4 pm and both him and seized drugs handed over to Phougakchao Ikhai PS for further course of legal action, the report conveyed.
