Ayurveda Day celebration, awareness prog held

As in other parts of the country, the 7th Ayurveda Day was celebrated in the state on Sunday.
Organised jointly by the Directorate of AYUSH and State AYUSH Society, Manipur, the Ayurveda Day celebration
held under the theme 'Numit Khuding Yumthong Khudingda Ayurveda Gi Kanaba Meepum Khudingmakna Louminashi' at MEIPA Hall, Palace Compound, here, was attended by AYUSH director Dr A Guneshori as chief guest, State AYUSH Society additional director Dr M Shamjai as president and National Health Mission state nodal officer Dr K Benedick Maring as guest of honour.
Speaking at the event, Dr A Guneshori opined that people of the state have acknowledged the benefit of Ayush treatment nowadays and hence enhancing standard of Ayush in the state.
She then called upon people to shoulder responsibility in availing benefits of Ayush treatment while recalling the role played by Ayush treatment during the height of COVID-19 pandemic.
The director pointed out that Ayush treatment is based on natural products and it has no side effect apart from being easily affordable.
Meanwhile, Noney Battalion of 22 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East) organised awareness on Ayurveda and its benefits at L Hengjol village and other nearby villages under Company Operating Base (COB) Kotlen.
The awareness programme was organised with an aim to bring awareness amongst the deprived remote villagers who have no access to basic healthcare and to promote Ayurveda for its extensive natural healing ways that work on illness and also improving the general wellness of the human body and mind.
The village authorities and villagers expressed their gratitude and appreciated the endeavour of the troops of COB Kotlen for initiating such awareness programme for local people.
The event was attended by 50 villagers from L Hengjol village and nearby villages and followed by distribution of tea and snacks.
