HSE-2022 begins at 118 centres

After a lapse of two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, around 28,400 students are appearing physically in the Higher Secondary Examination-2022 (Class XII exam) conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Examination (CoHSEM), which commenced from Thursday.
Altogether 27,983 regular students and 214 private students are writing the exam at 118 venues (79 centres in the valley, and 39 in the hills).
Eighteen different abled students along 201 others (casual or improvement) are also appearing the examination.
The examination is being conducted for a total of 46 subjects and will culminate on May 11.The flying squads of CoHSEM visited the examination centres to ensure no unfair means are being used and all Covid-19 protocols are observed.
Volunteers of student organisations inspected the exam centres as well.
Around 10,220 students are sitting for the examination at 34 centres in Imphal West; 3,354 at 16 centres in Imphal East; 2,446 at 10 centres in Bishnupur; 1,005 at 6 centres in Kakching; 3,771 at 13 centres in Thoubal; 200 at 2 centres in Jiribam; 733 at 5 centres in Chandel; 2,331 at 7 centres in Churachandpur; 1,150 at 9 centres in Kangpokpi; 330 at 2 centres in Noney; 1,393 at 5 centres in Senapati; 366 at 2 centres in Tamenglong; 126 at 2 centres in Tengnoupal, and 975 at 5 centres in Ukhrul district.
It may be noted that no examination centres were allotted in Kamjong and Pherzawl districts.
Meanwhile, two teams of Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) visited two examination centres on Thursday.
According to a statement released by DESAM secretary (Education and Academic Affairs) Thounaojam Sumol Luwang, the two teams visited Imphal Public School, Canchipur and Imphal Valley Academy, Ghari on the first day of the examination on Thursday.
The teams did not find any student using unfair means during the exam but found them writing their papers peacefully.
DESAM lauded the students and appealed to all students not to forget that they are the future pillars of the society and be sincere in their responsibility towards themselves, the society and the state as a whole.
