Speaking to media persons at Kakwa under Singjamei police station on Tuesday, JAC convenor L Roshini Devi asserted that SIMS founder Surjitkumar raped one of his students while three other teachers aided in committing the crime on August 14.Subsequent to lodging a complaint at Imphal West women police station, an FIR was registered but the accused persons remain as free birds till date.
While recalling that on November 24, Surjitkumar's uncle handed over a written assurance to the effect that his nephew would surrender within five days, the convenor said neither Surjitkumar surrendered even after five days nor the police have arrested him.
Denouncing failure of the police to take appropriate action against the culprits, Roshini Devi reiterated that intense protests would be launched if authorities concerned fail to arrest all those involved in the case within the deadline set.
