Paramotor flying adds glitz to Sangai Fest

Imphal, November 29 2022:
Adding a thrilling chapter to the Manipur Sangai Festival 2022, a paramotor flying session was opened today at the North Imphal Sporting Union (NISU) Ground, Luwangshangbam this morning.
The paramotor flying session which would continue till tomorrow is jointly organised by the Indian Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports (NIMAS), Ministry of Defence and the Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association (MMTA).
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Govindas Konthoujam said that the State Government would soon sign a memorandum of understanding with the NIMAS for development of adventure sports in Manipur.
He said that preparatory works have been already initiated on the proposed MoU and the Chief Minister has been consulted on the matter.
There are certain disputes or ambiguities but these matters would be settled soon, Govindas said.
He said that the State is successfully hosting the Manipur Sangai Festival under the theme 'festival of oneness' only because of the active participation by the people.
