Smart tablets donated to meritorious students

Imphal, November 29 2022:
In continuation of the various initiatives undertaken for youth empowerment in the state, IGAR (South) in collaboration with SMILES Foundation, Sudlife Insurance, BYJU's, Sacmi Engineering, Oxygen Resorts and Ice College donated 10 smart tablets preloaded with BYJU's learning material to select underprivileged children who excelled in academics and sports from Ukhrul, Sangshak, Pallel, Kakching, Ningthoukhong and Kangpokpi areas on Tuesday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the children were gifted tablets by Churachandpur Sector DIG Brig Michael D'Souza in an event 'organised at the Assam Rifles Pavilion of the Moirang Khunou venue of Manipur Sangai Festival.
The event was witnessed by a large gathering of chil dren, parents and locals.
Dhiraj Ahuja and Anand Pande of SMILES Foundation (Mumbai) were present during the event and expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for facilitating identification of deserving children.
SMILES Foundation has also been instrumental in the field of youth empowerment and has been encouraging the sporting culture among youth, the PRO added.
