Fake policemen loot travellers in broad daylight near Pherima

Senapati, July 06 2022:
Three men, posing as police officers from the Crime Branch, looted five people travelling in a Hyundai Venue car from Senapati to Dimapur in broad daylight on June 30 .
The victims included the Chairman of Kodom Khavii village and his wife, a college lecturer, a staff from the Senapati District Election Office and a friend of the village chairman, all from the same village.
According to victims, two Bolero (Silver and White colour) cars without any registration numbers blocked their vehicle near Pherima village at around 2pm on June 30 .
The victims stated that three persons posing as police officers from the Crime Branch on the pretext of an intelligence report that they were carrying illegal materials hijacked their car and drove it towards Patkai bridge.
The victims continued even after they identified themselves, they were detained for around 3 hours.
After the car was returned by the miscreants, the victims found that their belongings including 2 mobile phones and Rs 10,000 in cash among others were missing.
The spare tyre of the car was cut with a knife and car window channels & accessories were stolen.
The victims reported the matter to Poumai Hoho Dimapur and later filed the FIR at Chumukidima Police Station.
