Imphal, March 24 2022:
The state on Thursday reported nine new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1438 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering 0.63 per cent positivity rate against 0.71 per cent recorded onWednesday.
No death cases were reported in the last 24 hours and the toll stands at 2120 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 194 vaccinated people of which 61 had received second doses of Covid vaccine.
In the last 24 hours, 6 patients were discharged from home isolation (3) and JNIMS (3) .
The number of active cases rose to 81 out of which 7 (8.64 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 296 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 122 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, only five reported fresh Covid cases on Thursday.
So far, the state has recorded 11,278 positive cases and 118 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 283 new positive cases and 8 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 31 and 0 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 9 fresh cases 4 male & 5 female) are from among the general population and their samples were con firmed at RIMS (1) and other testing centres (8) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (1), Imphal West (3), Thoubal (3), Churachandpur (1) and Tamenglong (1).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,37,066 (general population - 1,32,052 and CAPF personnel - 5,014) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,34,865 (general population - 1,29,860 and CAPF personnel - 5,005) and number of active cases is 81 (general population - 79 and CAPF personnel - 2) .
The recovery rate is 98.39 per cent.
A total of 109 D-type and 24 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
With 1712 vaccine doses administered on Wednesday, the cumulative number of vaccinated peo pie reached 15,30,513, out of which 11,76,839 had received second doses and 64,908 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,699), Imphal East (30,416), Thoubal (10,146), Churachandpur (11,049), Kangpokpi (3128), Tamenglong (3478), Bishnupur (9822) Senapati (2489), Ukhrul (3269), Kakching (6887), Chandel (2716), Noney (1158), Tengnoupal (1198), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1036) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (704), Imphal East (511), Thoubal (189), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (67), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (51), Kakching (122), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,172 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,651 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,14,809 tests per million population against the national average of 5,59,343 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1438 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 0.63 per cent while the cumulative rate came down to 8.58 per cent.
