National Immunisation Day begins in Thoubal, Noney

As elsewhere, District Health Society and District Family Welfare Officer, Thoubal jointly inaugurated National Immunisation Day at Health and Wellness Centre of Urban Primary Health Centre located within CMO Complex, Thoubal Wangmataba on Thursday.
The campaign, which is being organised under the theme of "Let the victory over polio continue with two drops of life, was inaugurated by DFWO Dr Ksh Memcha Devi.
The campaign will culminate on March 26 .
Speaking on the occasion, DFWO Dr Ksh Memcha Devi informed that a target has been set to administer polio drops to around 42,000 children in Thoubal district, for which 330 booths including 15 mo bile teams have been mobilised.
In addition, 66 supervisors have been appointed for the purpose.
Regarding the opening of Booth Day on Thursday, efforts are being made to inoculate around 80 90 percent of the children at the polio booths, while home inoculation will be carried out on March 25 and 26.In all, 1320 vaccinators have been assigned duty, she conveyed, while appealing to the people to extend their support.
The inaugural function was also attended by District Health Society Thoubal programme manager Ch Basanta, officials and staff.
In Noney district, Chief medical officer (CMO) Dr Edwin Golmei launched the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) programme for children in the age group of 0-5 years in a function held at the premises of Noney PHC.
Apart from health centres, house to house visit for administering polio drops by the health care workers including ASHAs will be carried out till March 26.Mobile polio booths have also been set up in public places like markets, parking, community hall, etc.
