Luwangpokpa T-20: Blue Hawk, TCMDC & AKSDO win big; KCDO, MPSC also prevail

Imphal, January 07 2024: Blue Hawk, TCMDC and AKSDO registered emphatic wins as KCDO and MPSC also prevailed in the 4th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy on Sunday.

Blue Hawk thumped NCA by 9 wickets at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-Ill Cherapur, Thoubal.

Opting to bat, NCA got dismissed for 89 in 16.5 overs as L Sadananda, who was unbeaten on 34, was the lone performer in their innings.

It was a collective bowling effort by Blue Hawk whose attack saw Ningombam Jack-iechan Singh, Semson Singh Soibam and Becker Roy pick up two wickets apiece, aided by one wicket each from Wakambam Samson Singh, Samsung Meitei Heisnam and Mintu Chandra.

Blue Hawk then took 10 overs to complete the run chase courtesy of Mintu Chandra (45), Dijen Singh Naorem (22 not out) and Mutum Sudhir Singh (13 not out).

In the process, Mintu fell to Shinoj Khwairakpam's bowling.

TCMDC too enjoyed a dominant Victory by beating SU by six wickets at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.

SU elected to bat and made 129/8.In the innings, Kennedy Singh Karam (43) and Rahul Rajkumar (28) got into double figures.

For TCMDC, Sarangthem Priyobrata Singh led the scalping with 4 wickets while Kongbrailatpam Kalyan Sharma and Thongam Tuljit Singh took two wickets each.

In their response, TCMDC achieved the target in 19.1 overs for the loss of four wickets.

Kongbrailatpam Kalyan Sharma (52 not out) and Suraj Kharibam (19 not out) guided their side to a convincing win after Sarangthem Priyobrata Singh (28), Moirangthem Sunanda Singh (11), Laishram Vivekananda Singh (8) and Maibam Ashokumar (0) got dismissed.

For SU, Maibam Ashokumar claimed two scalps while Ngangbam Herojit and Pakpa Chungkham bagged one each.

AKSDO, meanwhile, beat YPHUC by 62 runs at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground, Imphal.

Electing to bat, AKSDO scored 159/7 with contributions from Superjit Moirangthem (42), Akash Laishram (38), Superjit Moirangthem (25) and Prameshwor Moirangthem (23).They then bowled out YPHUC in 19 overs for 97.Laishram Nirash Singh was the pick of AKSDO's bowlers in their comfortable victory as Rosan Laishram snapped two wickets, with Sanayai Ningthoujam and Laishram Rohit Singh taking one each.

For YPHUC, only Abdul Kaif (20) and Robinson Meitei Sandham (19) managed to reach double digits in their futile run chase.

KCDO secured an 11-run win over IBSA in their league match played at Lairenjam Public Ground, Imphal.

KCDO accumulated 154/6 after opting to bat as Lucky Thokchom (44 not out), Prakash Nandeibam (28 not out), Bikram Phamdom (23), Rosebel Sapam (20) and Md Ajizur Rahman (12) were the main run-getters in their innings.

In the process, they lost a wicket each to Pravesh, Mk Tamim, Azmad Kh, Boney Potshangbam and Yaikhom Pintu.

In reply, IBSA fell short in their chase after stalling at 143/7 as efforts from Riyaz M (40) and (21) were not enough.

In their triumph, Lucky Thokchom, Mk Amal and Ziaur Rahaman grabbed two wickets each for KCDO.

MPSC, on the other hand, pulled off a one-run victory against FORCE at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.

Electing to bat, MPSC were all out for 152.Gelson Singh Thoudam took centre stage in their innings, smashing 76 off 50 balls.

Sagolsem Sunil Singh did his part with 31 and Ngangom Sudesh Singh contributed 17.For FORCE, Md Kabir Ahmed picked up four wickets, Fajirul Haque snapped three, and Tashib Alam and Mutum Shushil took one apiece.

In their chase, FORCE made a spirited chase but came up short by a whisker as fighting efforts from Md Kabir Ahmed (30), MM Nawaj Sarif (27), Saddam Ahmed Shah (24) and Fajirul Haque (15 not out) went in vain.

MPSC's disciplined bowling attack helped them secure a thrilling win.

Indraban S Koijam, Oinam Rojit Singh, Sarangthem Shangker Singh, Gelson Singh Thoudam and Soubam Kingson Singh each took one in their triumph.
