BSF reaches out to people in distress

The 10th Battalion BSF carried out welfare and development activities for the people affected by the present turmoil under its civic action programme 2023-24 at the battalion's CI Post, Torbung Bangla.
During the programme, sewing machines, water storage tanks, PVC water pipes, sanitary pads & sanitary pads incinerator machines, water dispensers, stationery items, school desks, sports items, stand fans, water pumps and others were distributed to the villagers of S Kawtlien, Haolai Khopi, Kipmunnom, Monglenphai, Koite and L Buala, and IDPs staying at Govt Hr Sec School Koite and Govt Primary School, Vajing, in Churachandpur district.
The programme was inaugurated by Kulwant Kumar, commandant 10 Bn BSF.
The staff and officers of the 10 Bn BSF also attended the event.
Commandant Kulwant expressed his satisfaction at having the chance to meet the long-standing needs of the community by offering essentials goods to the people.
He assured said that the battalion will continue to carry out similar humanitarian activities under the civic action programme to further help the people of Manipur, adding that the 10 Battalion BSF haS been making an effort to meet the needs of the locals.
Upon the conclusion of the programme, the locals conveyed their happiness with the way 10 Battalion BSF was operating and complimented them for carrying out such significant events for the people of Manipur.
Hemkholal, a teacher of Tollen JB School, while expressing gratitude to the CO of 10 Bn BSF, said that everyone initially believed that the military's activities were limited to fighting insurgencies and others, but that people now perceive a gradual shift in the military 's mode of operation and that they are seeing them engage in civic activities.
