Dr Alyson Abonmai honoured with Best Social Reformer award

The Liangmai Naga Indigenous Forum (LNIF) informed that Dr Alyson Abonmai has received the prestigious "Best Social Reformer of the Year from the North East Region" award during the 31st Annual Conference and National Achievement Awards hosted by the Newspaper Association of India.
The awards distribution programme was held on January 5 at the NDMC Convention Centre, Sansad Marg, New Delhi, in recognition of outstanding individuals whose contributions have significantly impacted the nation's development.
In a statement, LNIF praised Dr Alyson Abonmai, a versatile artist, songwriter, social worker, and philanthropist, for his outstanding contribution to the country, particularly the North East Region.
The 'Gospel Cowboy' was acknowledged for his exemplary dedication in supporting 12,850 families with essential food supplies during the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The statement also highlighted Dr Abonmai's commitment to environmental sustainability citing his contributions to carbon credit initiatives and extensive tree planting efforts.
Beyond philanthropy, he actively promotes tourism, arts, and cultures, demonstrating a diverse range of interests.
The LNIF statement emphasised Dr Abonmai's literary achievements, including authoring the first-ever Naga folklore comic book titled "The Final Head," showcasing his dedication to preserving and promoting indigenous cultures.
Dr Alyson Abonmai had also declared candidacy for the 18th Lok Sabha election from the Outer Manipur Constituency, according to the LNIF statement.
