AMERF, SSMU sign pact for medical studies in Uzbekistan

Atinga Moirangcha Educational & Research Foundation (AMERF) has reportedly signed an agreement with Samarkand State Medical University (SSMU) in Uzbekistan, to facilitate aspiring Indian medical students pursue MBBS studies in a globally recognised institution.
SSMU is an institution with international accreditation from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and adheres to guidelines of the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India.
This collaboration not only promises world-class medical education but also offers an enriching cultural experience amidst the journey of Samarkand, a UNESCO World Heritage City, informed a statement issued by AMERF.
Established in 1930, SSMU has a rich 93-year legacy in nurturing skilled and dedicated medical professionals.
With over 1500 Indian students currently enrolled, the institution has gained popularity among Indian aspirants.
Affirming the cultural affinity between Northeast India and Uzbekistan, AMERF actively supports students from the region in their educational journey.
