Dr Alyson Abonmai bags Best Social Reformer award

Liangmai Naga Indigenous Forum (LNIF) said today that Dr Alyson Abonmai was awarded the "Best Social Reformer of the Year from the North East Region" in recognition of his "outstanding contribution to the country, particularly the North East Region" during the 31st Annual Conference and National Achievement Awards of the Newspaper Association of India held at the NDMC Convention Centre, New Delhi on January 5 .
In a statement, the LNIF said that Dr Abonmai is a versatile artist, songwriter, social worker and philanthropist who displayed exemplary dedication by supporting 12,850 families with essential food supplies in response to the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
He has also authored the first-ever Naga folklore comic book titled "The Final Head", LNIF also said.
In addition, Dr Abonmai has thrown his hat into the political arena as a candidate for the 18th Lok Sabha Election from Outer Manipur Constituency, LNIF added.
