16th Manipur State League : LYCC end SGFS's two-game winning run

Imphal, April 21 2024: Liwachangning Youth Cultural Club (LYCC), Chandel ended the two game Group A winning streak of Sang-gai Football School (SGFS) by pulling off a 3-1 win at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong this morning.

LYCC, who had registered a win and a draw in last three matches, had a dominating start and entered into the first half with a 2-0 lead with Ng Bedeenpar Moyon opening the account in the 10th minute and Chara Mongampha Moyon finding the net three minutes into the added time (45+3') .

LYCC carried forward their momentum after the restart and went further ahead with Khangembam Shitaljit Meitei scoring the team's third goal in the 52nd minute.

SGFS fought back to pull back a goal through Naorem Rohijit in the 66th minute but they failed to further reduce the game and eventually went down 1-3 to the Chandel team.

Today's matches scheduled at Kakching were however deferred due to unplayable ground conditions.
