HSLC exam results likely by May: BSEM

Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) chairman Akham Joyku-mar has informed that the evaluation process for High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination,' 2024 conducted by the Board from March 15 to April 18, will commence on Monday with an aim to declare the results by May.
Addressing the media at BSEM's Babupara office on Sunday, Joykumar recounted that the results for last year's HSLC examination was declared on June 15 .
However, to facilitate students who have appeared this year, he urged examiners to be regular during the process so that the results for may be declared by May this year.
Mentioning the standing order to the Board by the Education Department to implement grading system from this year, he informed that the Board members held a general body meeting and thoroughly discussed the matter and consequently agreed to implement the grading system from this year, so as to reduce the stress and burden on the children.
Joykumar continued that as per the National Education Policy (NEP), the Board examination should be held twice a year, in the form of a main examination and an improvement examination.
Starting from this year onwards, the compartmental examination, which likely in June or July, will be held as an 'Improvement Exam' .
Both compartmental examination appearing students and those appearing to improve their marks may appear for this exam, limited to three subjects.
Meanwhile, with regard to the main examination, special provision will be provided to sports playing students, who cannot appear for the examination due to clash in schedules with national and international level tournaments, he added.
