Imphal, August 08 2026:
The Federation of Civil Societies (FOCS), Manipur has demanded unconditional release of the men arrested by police within three days.
Speaking to media persons at their Kabo Leikai office today, FOCS vice president Arambam Rabindra said that some people who are currently under an agreement of peace talk with the Government were called by Jiribam Police for some talks.
On reaching Jiribam police station, the men were taken into police custody after labelling many charges against them.
He warned that such arrest of men under an agreement of peace talk with the Government of India may jeopardise the peace process.
Rabindra said that FOCS and associated organisations will extend full support to the total shutdown being imposed at Jiribam by Meira Paibi Lups, JDO and many other CSOs demanding release of the arrested men.
He demanded release of all the arrested men within three days.
