Moirang, August 08 2026:
BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary P Premananda Meitei has expressed confidence that the BJP would return to power with a huge margin in the upcoming Assembly election, claiming that the party would work to safe-guard Manipur and restore peace.
He was speaking at a BJP Dedicated Workers' (Karyakartas) Meet organised by the BJP Oinam Mandal at the Mandal office, Irengbam, to strengthen the party in Oinam AC and work towards its development.
Premananda said that despite attempts by certain political parties to "break Manipur", the BJP government would continue its efforts to protect the State.
He appealed to the people to have faith in the BJP and collectively work towards making Manipur a progressive State.
Referring to the prolonged unrest in the State, he said unwanted incidents had continued for more than three years and alleged that political parties opposed to the BJP were attempting to defame the party instead of working towards ending the crisis.
He claimed that no other political party would be able to defeat the BJP in the coming election, adding that attempts to portray the party negatively through television discussions and public meetings would not succeed.
On Oinam AC, Premananda appealed to the people to support Khumukcham Jibon Singh, whom he described as a dedicated BJP worker who had worked for the party for many years, to pave the way for a more developed State and progressive constituency.
The programme was attended by National Secretary, BJP Rashtriya Kisan Morcha, Khumukcham Jibon Singh; BJP Manipur Pradesh vice-president L Minabanta Meitei; general secretary Kh Saratkumar Singh; BJP Bishnupur district president S Sovana Devi; BJP Oinam Mandal president Th Mangi Singh; and BJP Kisan Morcha Manipur president Th Rajesh Singh, among others.
