Imphal, April 21 2024: Police have arrested a man for molesting an eight-year-old girl in an area under Sekmai police station on April 19 .

The man has been identified as Yendrembam Somorjit Singh (34) s/o (L) Mani of Awang Leikinthabi Maning Leikai.

According to a police report, accused Somorjit allegedly molested the young girl on April 19 .

The girls' family filed a complaint to Imphal West Women Police Station on Saturday, following which he was arrested.

He was produced before the court of duty magistrate Imphal West on Sunday, which remanded him to five days in police custody.
