YTSML celebrates; distributes award, shawls

Thoubal, January 07 2024: The 31st foundation day of Yairipok Thambalnu Sahitya Marup Cum Library (YTSML), Yairipok was observed at its Yairipok Bamol Leikai office on Sunday with Chorus Repertory Theatre, Manipur chairman & Padma Shri awardee Dr Ratan Thiyam as chief guest, YTSML president Ibotombi Khumancha as president and Manipur Literary Society president Nongmaithem Kirankumar as guest of honour.

As part of the function, the attendees observed two minutes' silence in memory of the 13, persons who lost their lives in a firing incident at Leithao village, Tengnoupal district on December 4, 2023 and also paid floral tributes to the photo Maibam Manjuri.

Later, the Maibam Manjuri Khorirol Ningshing Mana-2023 was presented to Moirangthem Rajen for his short storybook 'Meiwairaklaba Numitdangwaai' which consisted of a shawl, citation and cash award.

During the function, YTSML also presented shawls to people of Yairipok who are involved in literary activities.

The chief guest also released two books, a short story collection 'Hotel Galaxy' and a radio drama adaptation 'Khutshumaal' written by YTSML founder president Raghubir Thiyam.
