Imphal, April 21 2024: Personnel of the Stat ic Surveillance Team (SST-C) manning the Foreigner Check Post Gate Jiribam on Sunday apprehended a man with consignment of liquor during frisking-checking operation carried out as part of the security measures for the 18th Lok Sabha election.

The arrested man has been identified as Khuma Hmar (46) s/o (L) Lalkung of Tuisen, Bo-robekra Sub Division, Jiribam district.

According to a report, the SST-C team at the Foreigner Check Post halted a black Scorpio (ML05Y 4757), coming in from Jirighat towards Jiribam Bazar on Sunday around 2.30 pm.

Upon checking the vehicle, six bottles of Blenders Pride (Whiskey 750 ml), 16 bottles of Royal Stag (whiskey 750 ml), 24 bottles of Old Monk (rum 180 ml) and three Kingfisher Can Beer (500 ml) were found.

Both the person and the seized items have been handed over to Jiribam PS for further action.
