Thoubal July 26 2023:
While urging the state government to convene special assembly session of the assembly within August first week and end the violence in the interest of the people, Thoubal and Kakching District Apunba Lup (TAKDAL) cautioned of launching intense agitation if government fails to honour their proposal.
Speaking to media persons at its Wangjing office on Wednesday, TAKDAL chairman Yengkhom Bhaigyachandra pointed out that the conflict between Meitei and Kuki is posing serious threat to all due to failure by the state and central governments to intervene in time.
Though the 10 Kuki MLAs are standing firm for the community, the remaining 50 MLAs are yet to take any firm stand in sync with sentiments of the people, he contended, while reiterating that government convene special assembly session and adopt resolutions to end the conflict by considering the sentiments of the people before the monsoon session of the Parliament ends.
