Thoubal, July 26 2023:
Thoubal amasung Kakching District Apunba Lup (TAKDAL) appealed to the three MPs of Manipur to raise the ongoing issues of the State in the ongoing session of the Parliament so as to bring a resolution.
Addressing a press meet held today in connection with the issue at TAKDAL office at Wangjing, president of TAKDAL Y Bhagyachandra said, 'The communal violence promoted by narco-terrorism which first erupted on May 3 last has entered 85th day unleashing numerous horrifying acts' .
Amid such a tense situation, the indifference of the Central and State Government and its failure to resolve the crisis is really unfortunate, he lamented.
He further raised questions why the Government and machinery concerned are unable to curb the violence which could be easily controlled if timely and adequate measures were taken up.
With regards to the relentless attacks on Meitei villages in the foothills and peripheral areas, he urged the State Government to deploy adequate police forces to protect such villages.
He also urged the Government to evict the Kuki militants who have forcefully occupied Meitei areas in Churachandpur, Moreh, Serou, Sugnu, Napat,Tangjeng and Sekmai at the earliest and take up immediate measures to rehabilitate the displaced people rather than providing them accommodation in a different place.
Expressing grave concern on the recent news of infiltration of Myanmar nationals into the State, he sought the attention of Dr RK Ranjan, Union Minister of State for External Affairs to raise the issue at the Parliament and to shield the border of the State.
Lastly he called for peace and sanity in Manipur.
