Imphal, July 26 2023:
The government of India playing deaf and dumb in-spite of concrete evidences about Kuki outfits violating ground rules of the suspension of operation (SoO) agreement tantamount to undermining fundamental rights of the indigenous people, stated Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) .
With reference to a press conference held in Delhi to highlight the unrest situation in Manipur since May 3 last, a COCOMI statement issued by its media coordinator Thokchom So-morendro recounted that its spokesperson Khuraijam Athouba had accused the government of India of ignoring nefarious activities of Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists.
Moreover, the government of Manipur had withdrawn from the SoO agreement with Kuki National Army (KNA), Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA), and Kuki National Front (MC) as these groups continued to violate the ceasefire ground rules.
COCOMI also cited report of the director of Intelligence Bureau of last 10 years regarding narco-terrorists belonging to Chin-Kuki tribes establishing a Rs 50.000 crore economy inside Manipur by illegally occupying and converting 1.25.000 acres (90 percent of Kuki dominated areas) of forest areas into opium poppy cultivation areas.
Even after knowing these facts, the government of India is remaining silent and this is indicative of the fact that the centre is supporting narco-terrorism, said the release.
Since the government has not taken up any steps despite the Indian intelligence well aware of the agendof narco-terrorists in the state, the people of Manipur will use all available resources to save the future generation of Manipur.
The proxy game orchestrated by the government of India by involving themselves indirectly in narco-economy and opium cultivation under the cover of SOO agreement will ultimately be exposed, the release said while regretting that the government of India is legitimising the illegal activity.
