Displaced folks rally

Meiteis displaced from Moreh and Churachandpur today took out a protest rally against Kuki narco terrorists along the Singjamei Kongba Road.
The protest rally was organized jointly by the displaced Meiteis from Moreh and Churachandpur sheltering at Ideal Girls' College Akampat following the outbreak of the ethnic clash on May 3 .
Displaced folks including minor children took part in the rally that commenced at Akampat and proceeded toward Singjamei.
The protestors were however stopped and prevented from marching further by police upon reaching Singjamei bridge.
The protestors remained along the road for some minutes and raised slogans against the Kuki narco terrorists.
They also held banners reading "Save Manipur, Save Moreh, and Save Churachandpur", "Please Save us Modi Ji", "Stop Narco Terrorism" and others before they returned to their relief camp.
Speaking to media on the sidelines, one of the womenfolk asked as to why the State and Central Governments are unconcerned despite their houses being burnt down in Churachandpur and Moreh on multiple occasions.
She also asked whether the State and Central Governments consider Meiteis of Moreh and Churachandpur as second class citizens as the both the Governments have failed to protect Meiteis, their homes and properties in Moreh and Churachandpur.
It is heartbreaking to hear the news that Kuki miscreants along with their militants had burnt down more than 40 houses in different parts of Moreh town this morning and looted their properties.
Decrying the inaction of the State and the Central Government, she also asked the Governments to make all necessary arrangements for expeditious resettlement in their respective villages.
