He continued that violence will never bring any positive development.
All it does is bring destruction and misery, he said.
The ongoing unrest has greatly affected the lives of the people, prices of essential commodities have shot up and it would hinder all development works, he said.
To prevent the State from descending into more violence and misery, work towards restoration of peace and normalcy should be the priority of all sections.
The two sides in contention should work towards confidence building and collective responsibility instead of indulging in blame game and mudslinging to help usher in peace in the State, he added.
The team also visited relief camps opened in the valley and distributed relief items, besides handing out Rs 1000 as assistance to each family in the relief camps.
President of the All Manipur Christian Organisation, Simon Raomei who was also present at the spot said the Nagaland team is here to extend solidarity and to advocate peace in the State.
Besides the relief work, the team will also conduct counsellings to alleviate the fear and suffering among the inmates of relief camps, hold prayers for immediate return of normalcy and lighten up their spirits, he said.
It is very unfortunate that such an unprecedented communal violence has engulfed the State, he said while adding that all should work towards restoration of a peaceful Manipur.
He also observed that the violent and chaotic situation will continue to linger until responsible leaders from both the communities are brought together on the same table for a meaningful dialogue.
The objective of AMCO is the peaceful and cordial existence of all communities, he said while also stressing on the importance of mutual respect among all people of different religious backgrounds.
The visiting peace team along with members of AMCO also met representatives of Interfaith Forum for Peace and Harmony, Manipur.
