Sit-in bats for rooting out narco-terrorists

Stating that unsavoury incidents perpetrated by criminal elements should not be allowed to divert the core issue besieging Manipur, Angtha Apunba Meira Paibi and Clubs staged sit-in protest at Yairipok Angtha Mamang Leikai Khongnang Makhong during which slogans were raised to oppose demand for separate administration, and for intensifying the campaign to eradicate narco-terrorism and bring an end to the violence.
Speaking on the sidelines of the protest on Wednesday, Meira Paibi president Konthoujam Memi that the on-going conflict is mainly due to attack/aggression on Meitei villages by Kuki militants.
Strongly condemning the heinous act of naked parading two women by a mob the video clip of which has gone viral, she said that the particular incident should not dilute the various acts of atrocities committed against the Meeteis.
Memo also regretted that the state and central governments only woke up from deep slumber due to the viral Video while remaining deaf and mute on other acts of heinous acts.
Leaders of COCOMI and other organisations spoke during the sit-in protest attended by women of Naga villages neighbouring Angtha among others.
The protestors held placards inscribed with messages asking Mizoram CM not to interfere in the affairs of Manipur, 'No separate administration', 'Revoke SoO agreement with Kuki militants', 'We want peace' and 'Bring solution at the earliest' among others.
