Aid extended; womenfolk demand Central, State Govt to rein in Kuki militants

Extending relief materials to the residents of Koutruk village who have been at the receiving end of attacks allegedly perpetrated by Kuki militants, womenfolk of Singjamei Wangma Pebiya Pandit Leikai Ward Number 2 have appealed to the Centre and State Government to contain the Kuki militants.
Speaking by the sideline of the relief effort, the women said that the failure to rein in Kuki militants who carry out rampant attacks on Meitei villages in the foothills is a great flaw of the Central and State Govt.They lamented the Central Government's move of cherry picking one or two incidents that occurred during the course of this conflict and opined that in order to resolve the crisis once and for all, the Central Government needs to look at all the atrocities committed as a whole.
They urged Chief Minister N Biren Singh and his Cabinet colleagues to take up stringent measures to eliminate the stronghold of narco terrorists in Manipur.
Separately, Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai Tinsid Road Meira Paibi have extended aid in the form of consumables, essential commodities and clothing items to the village volunteers of Khamenlok under Imphal East district.
