DIPR celebrates, stresses on stakeholders' coordination

Along with giving a clarion call for coordination among all stakeholders for better dissemination of information so as to ensure peaceful co-existence in the state, Directorate of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) celebrated its 75th anniversary at the auditorium of the Directorate located at Nityaipak Chuthek, here, on Wednesday.
Speaking at the event, IPR commissioner M Joy highlighted the importance of coordination between IPR and other media organisations in disseminating information to the people.
Joy stressed that the dissemination of information about the government policies and programmes relies on the collaborative efforts and support of various stakeholders, without which the directorate alone cannot effectively update the public.
To promote a free and comprehensive service and foster peaceful coexistence among different segments of society, cooperation among stakeholders is paramount, he said, while urging all concerned parties to support the government's initiatives.
Joy also shed light on numerous endeavours undertaken by the directorate to keep the people of the state informed about various events and programmes.
He also highlighted the welfare measures implemented by the department for the journalists in the state.
IPR director Dr Th Charanjeet, in his keynote address, emphasised the directorate's role in disseminating information that contributes to maintaining peace and harmony in the state.
The directorate has long played a pivotal role in connecting the public with the government by providing timely information.
In the current state of affairs, the roles of IPR and media, in general, have become increasingly vital for ensuring a cohesive society, he said.
Dr Charanjeet called upon AMWJU, EGM, and MHJU to cooperate with the directorate in verifying news to prevent spread of false information in the media.
The director urged the officers, and staff of the directorate to work with dedication and commitment to uphold the integrity and dignity of the directorate.
He also encouraged the technical staff to enhance their skills to keep up with evolving technologies while promising to provide the necessary resources.
Earlier, commissioner Joy inaugurated a table tennis hall within the DIPR complex and along expressed gratitude to the Th Chaoba Memorial Charitable Trust, Singjamei, for providing 30 media jackets for DIPR personnel.
The Trust s representatives were honoured during the celebration, and the trust, in turn, presented token of appreciation to the directorate.
Additionally, three dedicated officials of the directorate received accolades for their distinguished services.
The celebration was attended by many retired officials of the directorate, who were honoured with simple gifts in appreciation.
Attendees from various media organisations, officers, and staff from the directorate, as well as representatives from district offices, joined the celebration.
