Mortal remains of slain SDPO laid to rest with full honour

The Government has identified those who killed SDPO Chingtham Anand Kumar but the situation is not conducive to reveal more details as it will hinder the investigation, said Security Advisor to the Government Kuldiep Singh.
He revealed the development during the wreath laying ceremony held in honour of the slain senior police officer at Manipur Police Martyrs Pillar inside the complex of 1st Manipur Rifles Battalion, today.
The mortal remains of Ch Anand Kumar were taken from JNIMS to 1st MR in a truck.
Floral tributes were paid to the slain policeman by women of Khwairamband Keithel and others near the western gate of Kangla before heading inside the 1st MR complex.

The wreath laying ceremony at 1st MR was led by the Chief Minister while a guard of honour was performed by a contingent of Manipur Rifles in honour of the slain police officer.
Ministers, MLAs, Chief Secretary and top brass of police and CAPF also took part in the ceremony.
The mortal remains were taken to Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai to perform the last rites after the ceremony.
Hundreds of people stood on either side of Keishampat-Kwakeithel stretch and bid farewell to the police officer.
At the ceremony at 1st MR complex, Kuldiep Singh stated that 60 strong personnel of State commandos have been sent to Moreh as reinforcement after clearing the blockade by Kuki women along Imphal-Moreh road at Tengnoupal.
He also claimed that RAF personnel are already stationed at the border town and the situation at Moreh has been put under control by the security forces.
To a query, the Security Advisor said that the Government has identified those who killed Moreh SDPO but the situation is not conducive to reveal the details.
The Security Advosir maintained that revealing the details of the killers will hinder the investigation.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Biren Singh has asserted that there will be widespread search operations at the border town Moreh until all the people involved in killing SDPO Chingtham Anand Kumar are arrested.
The Chief Minister continued that that the Central and State security forces have already launched a massive search operation at Moreh and the same will continue until all those responsible in the killing are arrested.
Saying that Anand Kumar was a bold and dedicated MPS officer, N Biren maintained that the Government takes the killing of the Moreh SDPO in cold blood very seriously.
It was cowardice, the Chief Minister said referring to the killing.
