N Rajningthou Memorial Trophy : YUCC, AKSDO confirm semi-final berths; Blue Hawk keep semi-final hopes alive

YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai sealed the Group B pole position and confirmed their place in the semis in the 4th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy with a 299 run win over YPHUC-Lalambung for the fifth win in 8 matches.
Riding on Thoiba's 68-ball 173, Rickey's unbeaten 99 and Reshan 44, YUCC racked up a massive 390 total for 6 wickets and held YPHUC to 91/10 in 20.5 overs riding on Kenedy's 7-wicket haul (7/11) and Bonny's 2/5 at Kongba Dhobi Lampak.
Thoiba who starred with a century was adjudged man of the match.
Birbal of YPHUC picked two wickets (2/65) in YUCC's innings before they failed horribly in the chase.
Sunny 26 and Ishwor 11 were the only double digit run getters for the losing team.
Blue Hawk also kept semi-final hopes alive from the same group by registering a 43 run victory over second placed ESU-Wangkhei for the fifth win in 7 matches at Lairenjam Public ground.
Blue Hawk who are third but on level 11 points with YUCC and ESU in the table, need a win in the remaining match SHADOW.
After electing to bat first, Blue Hawk racked up 178/8 riding on Binson 29, Vicky 21, Mandakeshwor 20 and Nongdamba 20 and bowled out ESU for 135 runs in 28.5 courtesy Nandakeshore 3/14, Rex 4/27 .
ESU's Bishomcha (3/32) and Abhinash (3/25) shared three wickets apiece in Blue Hawk's innings.
Donba 40, Suraj 35 and Simesh 26 batted well for ESU but lack of co-ordination among batters proved costly.
Nandakeshwor of Blue Hawk was named man of the match.
The day also saw AKSDO securing their place in the semis by finishing Group A second spot beating MPA-Thounaojam by 54 runs for the 6th win in 8 matches.
AKSDO were bundled out for 143 runs as MPA's Priyokumar (4/28'), Albish (2/16) and Naoboy (2/21) bowled too well but successfully defended their total by bowling out MPA for 89 runs thanks to Sanayai (3/23), Kaiku (3/13), Dinesh (2/7) and Nungshiba (2/25).Kaiku was named man of the match.
In a dead rubber Group A clash, YWC-L finished their campaign with a 62 run victory over TRAU courtesy an all round performance from Y Achouba at Model Hr Sec School and Oriental College ground.
Y Achouba scored an unbeaten 103 to steer YWC to 197/8 after electing to bat first and restricted TRAU to 135 in 31.3 overs riding on Y Achouba (3/32) and Ziad Khan (2/29) .
