Rotary Club of Imphal celebrates Golden Jubilee

Rotary Club of Imphal, Rotary International District- 3240, celebrated its Golden Jubilee at Imphal on October 31, 2023, by organising various community based service projects.
According to a release issued by Dr Sanjib Nepram, president of Rotary Club of Imphal, the club was founded on October 31, 1973 with 27 charter members.
At present, the club has 111 members, being the largest club in terms of membership in RID 3240 .
Nilesh Kumar Agarwal, District Governor, RID 3240, along with the first lady of the district Lakshmi Agarwal and Dr Nilesh Agarwal, Assistant Governor joined the Golden Jubilee observation by participating in the service projects organised by the club at RIMS, Imphal.

As part of the programme, 25 wheelchairs were donated to RIMS, Imphal for the benefit of the patients.
These wheelchairs were sponsored by Diagnomed Instruments, Imphal.
A voluntary blood donation camp was also organised at the Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS, Imphal in which about 100 units of blood were donated by members of the club, volunteers of NSS Cell, Manipur University and Life Savers, Manipur.
T-shirts, food items along with certificates of appreciation for donating blood were also handed over to all donors.
Pramod Jaiswal, Past President of RC Imphal donated blood for the 47th time in the camp.
Dr Sanjib Nepram, Dr Th Dhabali Singh, chairman Organising Committee of Club Golden Jubilee Celebration, staff of RIMS, Imphal and members of the club also took part in the blood donation camp.
In the evening, the visiting District Governor joined the Club Assembly and Regular Weekly Meeting (RWM) of the club wherein the special edition of club souvenir 'MANIPADMA@50' highlighting various activities undertaken during the last fifty years was released to mark the golden jubilee year.
He also reviewed various projects and programmes undertaken by the club during RY 2023-24 and also interacted with all the members of the club.
Three new members were also inducted during the RWM.
Besides, Nilesh Kumar Agarwal along with Dr Nilesh Agarwal and members of the club also visited Chanura Leikol Children Home at Khurai Chairenthong and handed over 1680 eggs for the month of November under 'Rotary Egg Bank Project' of the club on November 1, 2023 .
Stationary items and eatables were also distributed to the children.
Later, members of the club organised a lunch for the children under 'Rotary Chaklen Chaminasi' sponsored by Devkumar Thoudam.
Sadananda Hamom and Bonium Thokchom also joined the programme to spend some valuable time with the children too.
The District Governor congratulated RC Imphal on completion of fifty glorious years in service to the community and urged all members to continue to render their valuable services to build a peaceful & developed community.
He also appealed to all members of RC Imphal to donate to the Rotary Foundation to help in taking up various service projects and continue to 'Create Hope in the World' .
