'The Yellow Sparrow', 'Lambisida Ngaijarakli' released

'The Yellow Sparrow; Memoir of a transgender' penned by All Manipur Nupi Manbi Association (AMANA) secretary Shanta Khurai has been released in a simple function held at Ukiyo Book Store, Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai on Sunday.
Speaking liger Books published the book, first released in December 2023.Speaking on the occasion, Shanta Khurai informed that the book features important moments of the transgender communities of the northeast region and is also part of the community mobilisation towards transgender people in the state.
Observing that writers among the transgender community is rare, Shanta stressed the need for supporting them while expressing hope that the book could help in providing primary data in case anybody wants to conduct research in transgender.
He further said that the book will give valuable insights on the issues facing by transgender in the society.
On the other-hand, Khaidem Londanbala's poetry book 'Lambisida Ngaijarakli' was released in a function held at Manipur Hindi Parishad, here on Sunday.
Sahitya Akademi New Delhi, Manipuri Language Advisory Board convenor Prof Rajen Toijamba and Manipur Literary Society president Nongmaithem Kirankumar attended the event as chief guest and president respectively while DM University's School of Humanities dean professor Sagolsem Lanchenba and The Sangai Express (Manipuri) editor Khogendra Khomdram attended as guests of honour.
Quad Writers Moirang president Salam Tomba presented a brief review of the book at the event.
