Imphal, July 24 2023:
Women-folk of Kongba and its surrounding area today stag-ed a protest demonstration in front of the residence of Union Minister of State for External Affairs Dr RK Ranjan urging him to raise the State's burning issue in the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament.
Appealing to the Union Minister of State to present a "clear picture" and the "right narrative" of the present crisis in the Parliament, womenfolk in large numbers gathered near Kongba in the morning before going to his residence at Kongba Nandeibam Leikai.
At the MP's residence, the womenfolk were stopped by the security personnel deployed at the residence and informed them that none of the MP's family members were home.

After this, the women staged a protest demonstration in front of the MP's residential gate shouting slogans.
The women protesters said "It is not the time for the Union Minister of State for External Affairs to remain silent.
He must raise the Manipur issue and present a clear picture in the Parliament's Monsoon Session" .
The womenfolk shouted slogans such as "We Want Peace" and "Long Live Manipur" etc.
Speaking to media persons, one of the women said Dr RK Ranjan should speak in the Parliament and give a clear narrative of what ignited and fuelled the violence.
He should state who had first started the violence on May 3 .
The protesters also appealed to the leaders of the State and the Centre to bring an amicable solution to the present crisis.
It may be noted that in the early weeks of the current crisis on May 25, an angry mob attacked the house of Dr RK Ranjan and vandalized some properties.
Weeks later on June 15, the house was burnt down by another infuriated mob.
