MCDA extends financial assistance

Manipur Chemists and Druggists' Association (MCDA) extended financial assistance to owners of 10 pharmacies whose shops were been burnt down by miscreants during the course of ethnic violence in the state.
Addressing media persons at its BT Road office, MCDA general secretary Thokchom Dijamani informed that during the ethnic violence at least 12 pharmacies at Moreh, Churachandpur, Kangvai and Torbung were torched by miscreants.
Of the 12 pharmacies, 10 of the proprietors were provided assistance through money contributed by MCDA members.
In addition, the association has also distributed medicines free of cost during conduct of health camps amid the crisis.
He further informed that MCDA will negotiate with the dealers in the state to provide credit facilities for one month to those pharmacies which have been seriously affected by the violence so that they can restart their business after normalcy is restored in the state.
