Bishnupur, July 24 2023:
Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) of Moirang Assembly Constituency held a discussion programme today at the office of Senior Citizens for Society Moirang located at Moirang Municipal council Ward No 6 .
Detailed discussion was held on relentless atrocities committed by Kuki militants and crime against humanity upon the Meitei civilians ever since the communal strife broke out on May 3 last.
Later the attendees resolved to submit memorandums through different mediums to the President of India, Prime Minister, Home Minister, Defence Minister, Governor of Manipur and Chief Minister enlisting important points in connection with the mayhem in Manipur.
The discussion reflected the plights of the civilians who have been adversely affected by the unrest and measures to free the State from ongoing violence which has been going on for more than two months.
The representatives of the CSOs also demanded to convene a special assembly session to take up actions against those who have been demanding a separate administration and to take up immediate measures for restoration of peace and normalcy in Manipur.
Further it sought the attention of the Central Government to resolve the crisis amicably at the earliest.
