Parents of missing minors call on Governor

The parents of two missing minors along with ex-MLA AK Mirabai Devi called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey urging for her assis-tance in tracing them.
During the meeting, the Governor inquired about the disappearance in detail and she expressed her anguish at the incident involving the minors, said a statement of the PRO Raj Bhavan.
It may be noted that Hijam Luwangbi Chanu and Phijam Hemanjit have been missing since July 6 .
Hijam Luwangbi Chanu is a student of TG Higher Secondary School and Phijam Hemanjit attends Kindergarten Montessori School Takyel.
The two were last seen riding a motorcycle from Keishampat at around 8.15 am on July 6 .
CCTV footage captured their last visuals at Nambol, said a report published by the India TodayNE.
Quoting police reports, India TodayNE said Hijam Luwangbi Chanu's mobile phone was last located in Kwakta, Bishnupur district, while the handset used by Phijam Hemanjit is suspected to be in use by a person identified as Lhing-michong, care of Janglen of Ingourok Lamdan, Churachandpur district.
Meanwhile, expressing hope that the missing minors are safe and that she is offering her prayers for their safety, Governor Anusuiya Uikey assured the parents that she will extend all possible help in tracing the missing minors.
On the other hand, Dr Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor, Central Agricultural University called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan today and apprised her about the students who have been affected by the ethnic clash and the functioning of the University amid the prevailing law and order situation.
The Governor gave assurances that all measures for safeguarding educational institutions are in place for smooth functioning of classes.
A team of Kendra Vidyalaya teachers, Akham-pat, Imphal East headed by Dr Hariom called on the Governor and apprised her about the working conditions of the Vidyalaya and the problems being faced by the teachers especially who are based outside Manipur.
The Governor gave assurances that all possible assistance will be extended to them.
