Peace Committee Wangkhei opposes designs to occupy Kuki properties

Pointing out that certain people/groups have made efforts to occupy Kuki houses, churches etc in Wangkhei by furnishing the corresponding gift deeds, the Peace Committee Wangkhei has categorically asserted that this will not be allowed.
Speaking at a press conference held at WAL United Youth Club in Wangkhei Angom Leikai, RK Gokulchandra, chairman, Peace Committee Wangkhei appealed against any steps to occupy the properties of Kukies who have fled from Wangkhei area since violence erupted on May 3 .
Enumerating on the subject, he stated that the Committee will not allow the move of furnishing counterfeit gift deeds transferring church buildings to the Rongmei Baptist Church while adding that the latter belongs to a different group.
He also spoke out against groups of people claiming these properties with gift deeds and hoisting their flags in a bid to occupy them.
He stated that the people of Wangkhei AC will not stand for this.
Gokulchandra maintained that all this buying and selling of properties can be done once normalcy is restored.
However, the Committee has banned such transactions in the midst of the ongoing crisis.
Referring to threats made on the Meitei population in Mizoram to leave the State, he suggested the Mizo people rethink their stance.
He also appealed for adequate security to ensure safety of the Meiteis in Mizoram.
