Imphal, July 24 2023:
All India Mahila Congress president Netta Antoinette D'Souza has said that normalcy in Manipur could be brought about only with 'political will' for which Prime Minister Narendra Modi shall have to shoulder the responsibility by discussing the issue in the Parliament.
Addressing media persons at Hotel Yaiphaba before leaving for New Delhi on Monday, Netta said it is not right for PM Modi to remain silent for a long time on the Manipur issue but should speak as Manipur is a state of India.
She also said that chief minister N Biren Singh is responsible for the ongoing violence in Manipur and it would better for him to step down if unable to contain the violence.
Netta Antoinette D'Souza further said that she came to Manipur on July 21 to take stock of the prevailing situation and was shocked over witnessing plight of people affected by the violence particularly women and children staying in relief camps.
She stressed the need for adequate medicines to people staying at relief camps and counselling service.
Replying to a query, Netta said Prime Minister should take a decision on separate administi-tion apart from holding dialogue with both the sides for restoring peace and normalcy.
